Hey... since the last person tried... ^_^
I'm also looking to apply to SBCC for this coming fall (2008). More specifically in the SBCC - UCSB transfer (academy?) program. I just went to SB for the first time last week and loved it. I was hoping some of you might know a bit about the transfer program and possibly some views on what the school is like. Also if anyone has any information on the anthropology program (at SBCC and/or USCB), and how easy it is to meet people out there. Thank you!

Wayyyy late, but better late than never. I hope some of this still applies.

Don't know about SBCC's anth program, but a friend got a degree in physical anth & liked the classes. Wasn't too difficult, either.
SBCC is a great school. Transfer program is iffy - make sure you do above & beyond the "minimum requirements" if you want to be sure of getting in, or find other anth students you can talk to to see if it's a difficult program to get into. Some programs are harder to get into, and despite the "guaranteed transfer" agreement the schools have, it doesn't always work out. Try to find some anth SBCC/UCSB students to talk to, and definately make an appointment to talk with people (counselors maybe?) from both SBCC & UCSB to get an idea of what you'll need to get in to UCSB.
